Poster Design

To accompany the marketing of our film screening, posters and deliverables were created. While following the master brand, I designed a total of 8 different deliverables for this campaign. This includes posters, invite cards, comment cards, and decal designs. These designs were all posted amongst the Mount Royal University campus hallways, at the Iniskim Centre and handed out to students. Acknowledging that our workshops were not intended to bring in crowds to partake in arts & crafts, the posters required heavy content to explain the purpose of each workshop or event. The intention behind this is for viewers and attendees to be fully aware of the social issue and its meaning. Through an approval process, the deliverables were refined and finalized.

The Native Princesses website advocates for Real Beauty and the diversity of Real Beauty. To further expand this campaign, we set up a Real Beauty Portrait booth. I used my DSLR camera, tripod, and photoshoot lights for individuals to come and get their portrait taken. These portraits were then sent by email with the instructions on how to upload your Real Beauty Portrait onto the website. Along with the portrait, individuals were required to describe their definition of real beauty in 175 words. This was a great opportunity for people of all backgrounds to voice their own meaning of real beauty.

Two examples of the portraits taken are:

A portrait of Shirley Hill, our volunteer for creating Dream Catchers, in her traditional attire and a portrait of the director, Pepper O'Bomsawin.
