Myth or Fact Survey
I conducted a survey using 59 applicants. The survey was designed to see if our audience understood the issues faced by Indigenous women, and if they could tell the difference between real and false information regarding Indigenous women. The survey asked each applicant 7 myth or fact questions based on statistics gathered through the research I conducted. Applicants also answered one short answer question regarding who were the most influential First Nations women they know. To finish the survey applicants were asked to provide their email address to receive information regarding the Princesses Campaign and E campaign. The survey indicated that our audience understood that First Nations women face issues in Canada, but they had a hard time telling what was real and false, and highlighted the significance of bringing light to these issues.

To give our campaign insight into the issues faced by First Nations women I analyzed the history of First Nations women. By viewing the cultural aspect I was able to determine that countless children came out of Residential Schools scarred by the abuse they experienced. The effect of colonialism has had a lasting impact on First Nations Communities. Although the Canadian Government invests money into First Nations Communities they are having limited success. Statistically Indigenous women have higher rates of abuse than non-Indigenous women. The destruction of First Nations Communities as a result of colonialism caused significant instability. The research we conducted allowed our team to understand the importance of our work, as well as generate information to give people a reason to care. By educating people about the realism of these issues I placed them in the footsteps of the victims. When people were given a first person perspective of the victims the issues became real.
